12.09.2006 Egger UK’s Weyroc Protect/Rapid Deck flooring system has been hailed as one of the construction industry’s most innovative new products by the Construction Products Association.
Hexham-based Egger (UK) has won a national award for innovation following the launch of its new flooring system for the construction industry.
Weyroc Protect / Rapid Deck’s achievement in the category of innovation, is one of only 31 products nationwide, to be chosen for this year’s publication, which annually showcases the most innovative products and processes created by the construction products industry during the previous twelve months.
The innovative Rapid Deck system, the method for installing Weyroc Protect, uses a specially designed Weyroc Adhesive to fix the boards to the joist, making the boards quick and easy to lay. The unique, permanent non-slip surface of Weyroc Protect, in both wet and dry conditions also makes a significant contribution to site safety. The resultant floor is easy to clean prior to hand over, and the installation method offers a significant reduction in squeaking floors due to the lack of nails.
In presenting the award, CPA external affairs director Simon Storer said: “The standard of new and exciting products from across the industry continues to raise the bar and this year is no exception.
“The construction products industry is continuously developing and creating innovative products and processes which make a significant impact to the whole life cost cycle of a building.”
Egger’s joint managing director Bob Livesey added: “We are delighted to have won this recognition from the Construction Products Association. Our Weyroc Protect/Rapid Deck System has already brought enormous time and safety benefits to the construction industry.
“This innovation from Egger is designed to give the builder the most cost-effective, safest and quickest solution to their flooring requirements whilst exceeding the requirements of relevant building legislation.”
