Timberpak

Timberpak is a dynamic fast growing company that started trading in November 2000. Operating from its fully waste licensed Recycling Centre set within the busy Cross Green Industrial Park in Leeds. Whose environmentally friendly core business is principally the recycling of various forms of waste woods and timbers into chipboard produced at the two Egger production sites within the UK, Hexham in Northumberland, and Auchinleck in Ayshire.

Timberpak is part of the Egger group which enjoys being one of the largest and most influential companies within its chosen market.

At Timberpak we currently employ eleven staff who are responsible for material acceptance, sorting, shredding, loading and despatch. They work closely together at our 3.5-acre site where we currently process approx. 5000 tonnes of waste wood per month. (60.000 per year).

With most companies incurring high waste disposal costs due to increases in landfill taxes, the Timberpak service is both cost and environmentally friendly being able to offer an alternative disposal route for all solid natural timber products that are free from any material that may contain Halogenated Organic Compounds or heavy metals as a result of treatment with wood preservatives or coatings.

Timberpak are able to offer both material acceptance, for people who wish to bring in their own wood waste, as well as a collection service with the help of specialist vehicles. These vehicles are of a wagon and trailer type, which run at a payload of 44 tonnes. Presently they operate Monday to Friday from 7am till 5pm and on Saturday and Sunday when by prior arrangement. Our aim is to be flexible enough to operate a system to give maximum performance, and service to our customers.

We currently have 150 skip containers. 100 x 50 cubic yard containers, and 50 x 40 cubic yard containers. These containers are out on various customer sites throughout the M62 corridor, which is roughly within a 25 miles radius of the Timberpak site at Leeds.

Since its inception, Timberpak has built up a good reputation within our market as been professional and one of the forerunners who are setting high standards for everyone to follow.

Through the high standards that Timberpak has set its self, we have built up a large Customer base comprising of local businesses, furniture manufactures, waste transfer stations, demolition companies and civic amenity sites and are constantly looking to increase our customer base.

Timberpak site

The Timberpak site at Leeds takes delivery of all natural wood types and then removes any contaminates such as paper, plastics and metals etc before placing the different wood types into separates bays for processing.
The processing procedures are.

1.  Initial collection of wood via roll on roll of containers, or direct delivery to site by customers own vehicles.

2. Material is weighed in the site and records are kept for DOC

3.  Material is then deposited into the appropriate bay and inspected by trained personnel for acceptability. Material is then picked clean of non timber contamination before being pushed up into stock.

3.  Shredding of materials by using one of two Hammels (250mm size pieces), where large metal contamination is removed by magnets.

4.  Further shredding is available if required by a Doppstadt 50mm shredder which reduces the Hammel shred into 50mm size pieces.

5.  Material can then be screened to remove the fines if required.

6.  Shredded material is then re examined and any further contaminates are then removed, prior to being pushed into the shred bay to await despatch.

7.  Shredded Materials are loaded and transported off site for the use in the manufacture of chipboard at our Hexham, or Barony processing site.

8.  All dust fines are transported off site and are used in composting.
