I have HDX protect boards, which have been damaged on site. Can they be repaired?
A repair kit is available please contact Simmons (Mouldings) Ltd - http://www.epoxyworktops.com/
What is the difference between Service Class One and Service Class Two?
SC1 - For use in dry conditions i.e. HDX P6; SC2 - For use in humid conditions i.e. HDX P5
What expansion gaps do you recomend for HDX?
We recomend a minimum expansion gap of 10mm
How do you clean/maintain HDX?
For all HDX products a stiff brush/broom and damp cloth/mop should be sufficient to clean the product.
How do you seal the floor?
Epoxy based paints and resins may be used to seal floors. EGGER do not recommend the use of water based paints or solvents. Alternatively use HDX Protect
What are the manufacturing tolerances?
Length +/- 3mm; Thickness +/- 0.2mm; Width +/- 1mm; Diagonal +/- 3mm (ex-factory)
What are your point loads based on?
All point loads are based on a 50mm x 50mm concentrated load. Greater point loads may be achieved through gluing the profiles with EGGER D4 Adhesive
What advice can you give on concentrated loads?
Adequate provision should be made for static and dymanic effects of concentrated loads (eg. wheel loads of powered trucks and racking systems). Spreader plates should be provided as necessary to transfer permanent loads to the supporting structure (e.g. storage taks, stanchions and guard rail posts). For storage platforms, 38mm HDX is suitable for 1 tonne pallet trucks all up weight at maximum 700mm joist centres, and for 1.5 tonne pallet trucks at maximum 525mm joist centre.
